On 27 October 2025, the Hunan Chamber of Commerce in Malaysia, under the guidance of the Hunan Provincial Committee of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT-Hunan), paid a visit to the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) and held a targeted business dialogue aimed at deepening Hunan–Malaysia economic ties and helping Hunan enterprises connect precisely with the Malaysian market. The visit marked a more pragmatic and in-depth step forward in bilateral economic and trade cooperation.
At the round-table, MIDA senior officer Ms. Sawaddee warmly welcomed the delegation and gave a comprehensive briefing on Malaysia’s stable macro-economy, strategic location, well-developed infrastructure and diversified labour force. She underlined that electronics & electrical products, medical devices, aerospace, the digital economy and renewable energy offer particularly strong investment potential and government support.
Mr. Deng Luoxing, Vice-Chairman of CCPIT-Hunan, thanked MIDA for its hospitality and outlined Hunan’s recent industrial achievements and “Going Global” strategy. He stressed that Malaysia, as a key ASEAN economy, is a prime gateway for Hunan companies entering Southeast Asia, and expressed the hope that the visit would pave the way for more Hunan firms to invest and operate in Malaysia.
Ms. Sawaddee pledged that MIDA will provide Hunan investors with one-stop professional services ranging from pre-investment consultation and project registration to post-landing operations, and gave a detailed explanation of the tax incentives and policy support available to qualifying projects.
The meeting not only enhanced mutual understanding between the two sides’ official investment-promotion bodies, but also delivered a strong boost to Hunan enterprises interested in the Southeast Asian market. Both parties conducted fruitful discussions on investment opportunities, policy support and future directions for cooperation.
